Why does Easy Read need pictures?
Easy-to-read language helps many different types of people better understand texts. Among them are, for example, people with learning difficulties, or anyone struggling to understand and speak English.
Pictures, illustrations and icons complement texts in easy-to-read language making them even more comprehensible. They support accessibility and help you reach out to more people – with and without disabilities.

Who draws our pictures?
Kirsten, an illustrator at our Büro für Leichte Sprache Köln draws our pictures. As a translator for Easy Read in German,
she has a lot of experience with accessible communication and has been creating our pictures for many years.
Still, she puts great emphasis on including people with disabilities in her work.
Very important: All of her illustrations are reviewed by people from the target group.
